These
pages contain information about the history of the Dixie Highway, with
particular emphasis on the portion of the highway through northwest Ohio.
The highway stretched from northern Michigan to southern Florida. It consisted of two main branches with numerous smaller connecting branches (see map). The east branch linked Detroit, Toledo, Dayton, Knoxville, Augusta, Savannah, Jacksonville, Daytona, and Miami. The west branch connected Grand Rapids, Indianapolis, Louisville, Nashville, Atlanta, Tallahasse, Orlando, and Miami.
